Arimidex [1 mg Tablets] by Dragon Pharma

Originally designed to treat breast cancer, Arimidex has more recently found a home in the world of performance enhancing drugs. This drug has been used frequently in the bodybuilding community because of its anti-estrogen attributes, as well as some other functions designed with its original intent. The original trade name given to this drug was AstraZeneca, as proposed by its creator.

Arimidex helps bodybuilders by blocking the aromatase enzyme, which is typically responsible for the many negative side effects associated with taking anabolic steroids. Some problems with taking steroids include excess water retention and increased estrogen and can be greatly reduced by taking Arimidex.

Pharmacodynamics

Arimidex was originally developed for the treatment of breast cancer after surgery. The drug has also been used for treating metastasis in pre and post-menopausal women. Since the severity and chances of breast cancer rise with the increase of estrogen in the body, this drug helps decrease estrogen levels and therefore decreases the severity of breast cancer.

One study showed that the risk of breast cancer coming back after Arimidex treatment reduced by 40%. However, the risk of bone fractures increased with these patients.

Most bodybuilders agree that the use of Arimidex is best during a cycle. This drug tends to be more beneficial than SERMs, simply because it provides the same results, with the included benefit of reducing estrogen. Most common SERMs only block the estrogen from binding and they will not reduce the overall level of estrogen. However, bodybuilders and athletes must be careful because Arimidex can actually reduce estrogen so much that it hurts tissue regrowth and regular body functions.

Dosage and Uses

The best plan for using Arimidex is to take a small dose while on a cycle and then continue this regiment every other day in order to achieve the desired results. Some people have to take more in order to combat the side effects that come with anabolic steroid use.

A recommended dosage of 0.5mg-1mg every other day is standard. If you use this drug in heavy, short bursts, you will begin to see a hardening look in the muscles, however it will not last for long as some estrogen is needed in order to maintain those body features in the long term.

Once the cycle of steroids ends and the PCT periods begins it is wise to stop using Arimidex and to move toward SERMs, as these will increase the amount of testosterone in the body, while still maintaining a certain amount of estrogen. This helps keep the hardened look most bodybuilders are going for, since some estrogen in the body is actually good for this.

Contraindications

If the athlete has minor contraindications associated with heart disease, Arimidex may be taken after consulting a doctor and with Clomid.
